About Doostan
Doostan is a registered charity in England and Wales. It was originally founded as a Social Club, in 2000, at a gathering of friends from various backgrounds and living in different parts of the UK.

In 2002, Doostan Limited, a non-profit organisation, was established to promote and raise funds for building schools in the remote and deprived regions of Iran. Our fund-raising is based on two annual events for the Christian New Year and Norooz (Persian New Year). In 2008, a similar Iranian group was formed in Manchester and became affiliated to Doostan. Manchester Doostan hold similar events in Manchester for like minded individuals in the north of the country.

Doostan members are all volunteers and do not charge the charity for any of their services and this includes their trips to Iran to inspect new school sites and the progress of the construction of the schools.

Our partners in Iran are a respected non-governmental organization , Khayyerin Maddresseh Saz Iran, who are focused on identifying suitable locations and villages around Iran in need of funding, and project managing the building of the schools.
